United for Literacy Book Circle

We're back for a new season!

The First Tuesday of the Month

5:00–6:00 PM
United Theatre Gallery

5 Canal Street, Westerly

Author William J. Miller, Jr., speaks about his book, Steel City, at the September 2022 United for Literacy book circle.

The United for Literacy book circles are a time for fun, conversation, and shared ideas about the books we love. It's a time to learn about different topics, discover new books on the market, find out some publishing tidbits, and hear what other book-lovers are reading.

  • Light refreshments are available for purchase at the concession stand.

  • There will be a table for exchanging books; bring one to give away and take one to read.

  • Seating is limited to 50; RSVP below.

  • This is a free event but donations are gratefully accepted.

F. Gregory Ahern talks about his upcoming book about his father's Eutopean service in World War II (November '22).

Jennifer Gibson and Andrew Nathan give a lively presentation of their favorite cookbooks at the April 2022 book circle.

Tuesday, April 4

From Bach to Bono

Our April book circle will feature books about music. Whether you're into classical music, a jazz afficianado, or groove to rock and R&B, there'll be something in this month's presentation to interest you.

Tom Kendzia, composer, performer, and a life-long musician from the early days when he climbed up into the choir loft to play the organ at the now-Chorus of Westerly Hall, will present some of his favorite music books.
